About the Blog: MD means Major Decision
Welcome to MD means Major Decision!
If you want to get a glimpse of how is it like be a medical student - the triumph, failure, joy, frustration, excitement, stress, dedication, sacrifice, conflict, ups and downs in medical school, and everything else - you've come to the right place!
But what is MD?
Medicinae Doctor?
Doctor of Medicine?
Medical Doctor?
Maybe yes, maybe no.
MD can be anything. But for me, it means more than those things.
The road to being a a physician is long, difficult and expensive. It entails a commitment to a lifelong learning and a life of service.
So, MD really stands for major decision.
In this blog, I share my stories, insight, and reflections about medical school life and more. I document my experiences as a non-traditional student in a light and sometimes humorous way.
Hopefully, you'll join me as I embark upon this career in medicine.
Happy reading! :)

About the Author: Major Decision Maker
I'm VIVIAN! My name is of Latin origin which means "full of life" and that's who I am. At least, that's what I think. Or let's just say that I'm trying to live my life to the fullest.
I am a third year medical student in the Philippines. In a few months, I'll start with my clerkship. My goal is to be a (traveling) doctor. I want to help "heal the world and make it a better place." :)
I'm a non-traditional student because of the following reasons:

I'm a non-traditional student because of the following reasons:
- I'm already in my mid-twenties when I enrolled in med school
- I'm a non-science major (my premed is a pre-law course)
- I'm a career changer
These are the reasons why I can be called a major decision maker. Besides, if the blog title is MD means Major Decision, then, that makes me a major decision maker, right?
However, being a non-traditional student doesn't make me so different from my classmates. I'm just a typical and normal student drowning in the sea of medical knowledge and trying to understand the importance of everything that I learn.
Well, here are some other things about me. (This is my blog, I can write anything I want.)
You can also read a few more things about me HERE. I hope you, at least, learned a thing or two by visiting my blog. Thanks!

- I LOVE LIFE! I love GOD. I love my family and friends. I love my country. I love so many things in life!
- I love to learn - I'm a perpetual student! I believe that if we stop learning, we stop growing.
- I love sports - Basketball is my first love. But I also play football and volleyball. And sometimes I join running events, too.
- I love to read - I have hundreds and hundreds of books! In-between reading medical books, I still try to read fiction or non-fiction books or online journals especially on weekends.
- I love to garden - Gardening is relaxing. It brings me closer to nature and teaches me about life lessons as well.
- I love long walks - There is something about walking that makes me feel so alive. Plus, it helps me to think clearly. A long walk after a tiring day relaxes me.
- I love to travel - I like long road trips! Sometimes I enjoy detours, too.

VIVIAN
